Chaparral West, Inc.

Ron started in the construction industry when he was 15 years old, working summers and after school as unskilled labor. He worked as a stucco laborer, did termite inspections, and on concrete crews. He gained the skills he needed to become a skilled craftsman in concrete, and then started a small construction company specializing in concrete and masonry construction.

Over the years he added the construction of new homes, land development and real estate investing to his endeavors.

He and his wife Terri moved to Grand Junction, 25 years ago and have raised their seven children in the Grand Valley. They have eight grandchildren

Ron and his wife Terri started Chaparral West when they moved to the valley in 1993 and work together as a builder/designer/sales team. Ron views himself as the “muscle” and Terri as the “heart” of the company. Ron manages the day to day construction aspects of building and technical details and Terri’s focus is on the interior design and selections for the homes, whether that be speculative homes or with customers on pre-sold homes helping them through their color and selection process.

Ron and Terri work hard to bring style and creativity, blended with an effective use of space and practical living, all while trying to stay current with new home designs and trends in the constantly evolving new home building industry. They have a great office staff and a hard working group of subcontractors to make their team work well.

Ron says, “We realize buying a new home is one of the most important decisions a person will ever make. How that home is built is just as important. Our goal is to build each of our homes with quality and attention to detail in mind and deliver it at a price that is a good value for our customers. We truly believe each and every home deserves our best effort no matter the price point.”

Terri likes to point out that they also like to offer options in their homes that perhaps some other homes in their price points may not have; and over the years they’ve tried to find out what is current and have incorporated some of those items in the homes that they build. They also offer a 10 year third party home warranty with each home as an added bonus. Terri says, “We know home buyers put a lot of faith and trust in us as a new home builder and we take that very seriously.”

Chaparral West, Inc. has developed many communities and built hundreds of homes around the Grand Valley. Chaparral West is currently building homes in Bella Dimora at “The Legends” and at “Shetland Meadows”, and will have more lots available in the spring in two additional subdivisions they are developing called “Pear Meadows” in the South East, and ” Independence Estates” in the Redlands.

Ron currently serves as a board member of the Housing and Building Association of Western Colorado. He enjoys being one of the board members, serving in capacities such as working with the local planning

department and the county building department on finding cooperative solutions to problems plaguing the building industry.

Ron says, “The Grand Valley has a great group of builders, contractors and real estate professionals. It has been my pleasure over the years to get to know a number of them and many others in our industry here in the valley and build a working relationship with them. Together I hope we can continue to find ways to help one another and help to improve our industry and the community in which we all live and work.”

Ron’s hobbies are spending time with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, skiing, rafting and camping with his family and friends, and traveling with Terri. He enjoys the many outdoor opportunities the Grand Valley has to offer.

Ron supports local organizations like Catholic Outreach and Special Olympics along with grass roots international organizations like, Children With Hope and Appleseed Ministries. These organizations offer hope to children and their families here and in Kenya the Philippines and Tanzania.
