When did you start Grand Junction Subaru?
I moved to Grand Junction and purchased the dealership in November of 2005.
How did you get into the business?
I was an executive in finance at General Motors. I was looking for a dealership that I could afford and in an area that fit my family’s lifestyle. I found Grand Junction and have never looked back. I absolutely love living, working and playing here.
Why did you choose Subaru?
Subaru is recognized by Consumer Reports as a Top Auto Maker and is one of the worlds most respected auto manufacturers. We’ve been around since 1968. Subarus are outstanding, reliable vehicles, favored by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, are great for Colorado’s extensive terrain and extreme seasons, and fit most every budget.
Subaru really offers something for everyone.
How does Grand Junction Subaru compare to other Subaru dealers and other new vehicle dealers in Mesa County?
We are Colorado’s largest volume new vehicle dealership west of the Rockies. Grand Junction Subaru is the areas premier retailer of new and used vehicles.
How many people do you employ?
We started with 18 employees in 2005 and currently employ 49.
Do you have a service department on your property?
Yes, in fact, our technicians are the only ones in town certified through Subaru’s factory training. Our technicians spend three weeks per year training on the most up-to-date care and maintenance techniques and have more than 85-years of combined experience.
In your nearly 15 years in Grand Junction, you have shown that you’re very community oriented through your donation of time and money.
Success is a two-way street. Our team is tremendously grateful for our business success and we owe it to our very loyal customers. It’s important for us to give back to show our gratitude. It truly makes us feel good to help others. Over the years we have been avid supporters of Mesa Land Trust, Colorado Canyons Association, Colorado Discoverability, the Arts Center, Riverside Educational Center, American Red Cross, Museum of Western Colorado, Meals on Wheels of Mesa County and Roice Hurst Humane Society to name a few.
What keeps you going every day in this business?
For me and I think I speak for our entire team when I say our customers keep us motivated. Seeing them happy, having them refer us to friends and family, and getting their repeat business is so gratifying. But also, being recognized by Subaru and industry organizations for a job well done is extremely satisfying. We just received the Subaru “Gold Customer & Community Commitment Award”, which signifies being the cream of the crop of Subaru dealers. We’ve also received awards like Kelley Blue Book 2018, CarGurus Top Rated Dealer of 2019, 2019 Consumer Satisfaction Award by DealerRater.com and we have an A+ Accredited Rating with the Better Business Bureau.
